The biography of the legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone reflects strong will power ,determination and without doubt a strong affection towards the game that is played on a court with light long handled rackets used to volley a shuttlecock over a net. Prakash Padukone otherwise know as Silent Tiger was born on 10th June 1955 in Bangalore. Nobody have ever predicted that one day this boy will grow into a world class badminton player and will bring glory to his motherland India.
Badminton was in his blood because his father Ramesh Padukone Sr was the secretary of the Mysore Badminton Association for many years. And therefore Prakash stared playing Badminton from his schools days. In the year 1962 he got the opportunity to play in the Karnataka state junior championship but unfortunately he lost his first match of his life in the very first round. He was very disappointed but his hard work and desire to win brought him his first office victory in the year 1964 in the same title. During the early months of 1971 Prakash decided to change his playing strategy and he adopted aggressive style and this bold step made him won the Indian National Junior title with a year in 1972. Taking inspiration for his last victory he also won the senior title in the same year. At that time no other Badminton player dared to challenge him and therefore for the next seven year he consecutively kept the title on his shoulder until 1979. With paying he was also a employee in the Union Bank of India as a probationary officer.
After achieving tremendous success his mother land in marched towards international title and in the year 1979 he successfully won in the commonwealth games. In the next year 1980 his faced a very top competition because this time the Indonesian Liem Swie King was against him but he successful defeated the dude and thus won All England Open title. Prakash Padukone spend some beautiful moments of his life in Denmark .
Later on he was back home to Bangalore with his wife Ujjala Padukone and two daughter namely Deepika Padukone and Anisha. Prakash Padukone was just like any common badminton player but two awards change his outlook and him become a living legend in the year 1972 Arjuna award was handed over to him and in 1982 he was again awarded with Padma Shri. Prakash retried in the year 1991 and joined as the chairman of the Badminton Association of Indian.
